The Gaucho Knife C1020 by OriginalDogo is a handcrafted Argentine knife inspired by the traditional knives used by gauchos throughout Argentina. Its broad 8-inch blade provides a substantial cutting surface and a balanced profile, making it well suited for barbecue, grilling, food preparation, outdoor cooking, and general field use.

The knife is individually handcrafted in Argentina from SAE 1070 high-carbon steel and features a full tang construction for strength, durability, and reliable control. Its broad blade profile provides excellent cutting performance while maintaining the practical character and traditional proportions associated with Argentine gaucho knives.

Each C1020 includes a handmade vegetable-tanned leather sheath, individually crafted to provide secure storage and protection while complementing the knife’s traditional design.

# SAE 1070
SAE 1070 is a high-carbon steel known for its strength, toughness, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. It is particularly well suited for traditionally crafted knives where reliable cutting performance and maintainability are important.
As with other high-carbon steels, the blade should be dried after use and maintained with a light coat of mineral oil when necessary to help protect the steel from moisture and oxidation.

Every C1020 includes a handmade vegetable-tanned leather sheath made by skilled Argentine artisans. Each sheath is individually stitched by hand to provide durable blade protection and secure carry.

# Phosphate Finish:
This blade features a protective phosphate finish that provides increased resistance to corrosion while reducing surface reflections. The matte dark finish also gives the knife a distinctive appearance without affecting its cutting performance. Carbon steel still requires normal maintenance, including drying the blade after use and applying a light coat of mineral oil for long-term protection.
